Guilt plays a big role in Macbeth. In the beginning of our story when Macbeth kills he is filled with guilt. He believes that he feels guilt only because he is an unexperienced killer. Later he becomes evil and no longer feels guilt when killing. Even the wicked witches call Macbeth wicked. At first, Macbeth doesn't even want to kill Duncan because he feel as if it is wrong. After Duncan dies, and everyone starts talking about it, Macbeth makes a big scene to try and hide his guilt. This fails and Lady Macbeth distracts the nobles to prevent them from finding out the truth. At the banquet after Banquo is killed, Macbeth sees Banquo's ghost and is frightened. The party guest are horrified and shocked by Macbeth's vision. Later, Macbeth decides to go ahead and kill anyone he is suspicious of. In Macbeth, guilt makes people go crazy.
Lady Macbeth is also affected by guilt. Though Lady Macbeth doesn't play a direct part in these killings, she feels guilt about them. In the beginning, Lady Macbeth believed that if you washed off the blood from your hands, you were no longer guilty. She said that even though she put blood on the guards, she was disappointed that her heart was innocent, because she didn't stab Duncan. Overtime guilt builds up in her and she has to release it from her body somehow, so she confesses in her sleep. When the doctor and care keeper hear her talking about the crimes her husband and she have done, Lady Macbeth says that no matter how hard she tries the blood still stains her hands. This blood signifies the guilt she has for her husband's crimes. Throughout the play, guilt affects characters by making them insane. Guilt show the idea through the play that the guilt or blood never goes away.

Plan = No Happiness (Macbeth Quotations)
"We fail!
But screw your courage to the sticking-place,
And we'll not fail.
When Duncan is asleep--" (Lady Macbeth, 43).
This quote show Lady Macbeth trying to convince Macbeth to kill Duncan and blame it on the guards. She tells him that they will not fail, because her plan is brilliant. This quote adds to the scene because it leads to Macbeth killing Duncan, an is the moment when Lady Macbeth fatally convinces him to carry through. She is not afraid to get caught in the crime as Macbeth is. This quote show that Lady Macbeth is more manly than Macbeth which is a reoccuring topic that Lady Macbeth addresses throughout the play. In the next quote, they realize that all this bloodshed hasn't led to happiness. Instead it buries them into a cycle of blood and killing that they cannot escape.
"Naught's had, all spent,
Where our desire is got without content.
'Tis safer to be that which we destroy
Than by destruction dwell in doubtful joy" (Lady Macbeth, 93).
In this quotation Lady Macbeth is saying that though she is the queen and Macbeth is king, she is not happy. Originally, she thought that if Macbeth was king the would have everything they wanted and their problems would vanish. Instead they got their desire, but that desire didn't bring them happiness. In the last two lines, she says that it is safer to be dead like Duncan than to be held back by Duncan's death. This quote is important because it leads to the idea that Macbeth gets to kill Banquo and Fleance. It represents the concept that knowledge is deadly.

Spring Break 2014
The first part of my Spring Break was the great. I flew to Orlando and did lots of shopping. I also went to Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Then it was back to Baton Rouge. It was Monday, I thought that I would be able to get my work done in advanced for long term projects, but as most would, I spent the entire day watching old movies like The Breakfast Club. On Tuesday, I opened my World History book skimmed the first page and shut it. Then I went to the mall with my friend. The rest of the break went downhill from there. One day, my sister took me to the AMC movie theater to watch The Other Woman, but apparently the movie theater got the rating wrong. They listed it as R, so we grabbed some frozen yogurt and went home.
Over the break, I wanted to schedule a private with my gym. I sent them an email, and they didn't respond till Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning I got the email, and it said "He will be there". I wasn't sure if I was supposed to send an email back to confirm, but I guess I should of. When I went to my gym for my weekly tumbling private, no one showed up. So we waited for 15 min then left. I ended up helping my mother's friend pick out a wedding dress. Well the lady was clueless when it came to dresses. For starters, she didn't know that she had to make an appointment to try on dresses. Also she didn't want to give the store any information so when the receptionist gave her a registration form she only filled out her name. The lady came back and told her she had to fill out more. My mom's friend filled out a few more things, but still didn't fill out the groom's name. So the receptionist lady came back and told her that the groom's name was required. finally the form was complete… or the receptionist just gave up. Lucky, the store had an open stylist. Store policy was that you could only try on three dresses, but she tried on 12. It took forever, and she didn't even find a dress.

Macbeth Statements
I agree with the statement, "Everyone is capable of lying, betrayal, and violence, which are basic parts of human nature". In my own experience, I've seen even the sweetest people turn violent occasionally. One friend I had was great she always had my back, and was super nice to everyone. One day, she betrayed me and ditched me for some other friends. Also I'm pretty sure that no one has gone through life without telling a lie, even if they later confess. In Macbeth, this is also the case. King Duncan is portrayed as a nice king, but he also orders the execution of the Thane of Cawdor. Also Macbeth seems like a nice man, but he plans to kill the king and has killed many others in battle.
I neither agree nor disagree with the statement, "Ambition is a positive, desirable trait in a person". Though ambition initially seems good it can also lead to great danger. Ambition is drive that makes people better. One with ambition works hard to improve and often ends up better in the end. Ambition also has a dark side that involves getting rid of anything that gets in the way of the grand prize. I've seen one that is so obsessed with being a professional of a sport that they drive their family and friends away in the process. In Macbeth, Macbeth has ambition to be a good noblemen, and works hard in battle. Once he finds out that he will be king, he develops ambition to acquire the crown. Macbeth plans to kill the King though the King has given him a very desirable title.

Analyzing "Beautiful"
The song "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera is filled with many poetic devices. Christina Aguilera uses cacophony in every other line to create a harsh affect. She sings "Then suddenly it's hard to breathe […] From all the pain, I'm so ashamed. In the same lyrics she also uses sibilance in suddenly, and ashamed. Beautiful contains assonance with many different vowel sounds including the ō sound in the line "So consumed in all your doom" The verse "We are beautiful no matter what they say [..] We are beautiful in every single way […] So don't you bring me down today", is an example of an end rhyme. Beautiful is full of repetition on phrases like "bring me down", "No matter what we", "are beautiful" and others.
Poetic devices are used throughout the song to generate a deeper and more significant meaning. Christina Aguilera uses cacophony in every other line for a harsh affect that emphasizes the hurt that Aguilera feels from others' opinions and words. She uses assonance to express the good when people come back stronger and conquer their enemies. This assonance in the song "Beautiful" paints this art of the words being beautiful which lead to the songs meaning. Repetition is used Aguilera to emphasize the theme that everyone is beautiful if they believe in themselves. Aguilera uses enjambments in the beginning of the song to create a serious, hesitant voice. Overall "Beautiful" is a powerful and passionate song that is supported by optic devices.

Memories of the Way You Lied
I remember the way you lied
To protect me
To comfort me
You lied
When I was a kid
When I was young and dumb
When most were still sucking their thumbs
When there was a rat
But no cat.
When I cherished over crisp
cherry turnover
Fresh from the toaster
When we sat on the table,
With our feet hanging down.
With our horrified expressions
When we spotted
red eyes
That was really a lie.
All the blemishes down the toilet
Maybe you should have let it go.
Let our imagination run wild,
And our fantasies become reality.

Research Paper Draft
Over the snow days I worked on my research paper. My research paper was decent overall. I feel confident of my introduction and I did a good job of using all the points I put in my thesis in the body of the paper. The easiest part of the paper was writing the introduction because I already had my thesis done. Placing all the information down on the paper and organizing the paragraphs was also fairly easy because I already had the sections mapped out on my detailed outline.
The hardest part about writing my draft was the length requirement. Once I had placed all my important information in my paper I still had two more pages to write. I discussed my topic with one of my friends and she suggest to look up how the one-child policy affects kids' personalities. I found a lot of information about how it affects personalities and added that to my research paper draft. I am unsure if i cited correctly with the commas and periods on a few of my sources. I tried looking over the powerpoint on quoting but i couldn't find the quoting rules that I was looking for, even though I remember talking about them. I'm concerned with my conclusion and if I connected the paragraphs together and related them back to the thesis without being extremely repetitive. I would like help changing the fluency between paragraphs and the punctuation of my citing portion of my paraphrases and quotes. When Dr. D reads my draft I would like her to focus her feedback on how the my paragraphs connect to the thesis and each other.

Sneaux Week
Well it turns out that this time, real school might have been easier than virtual school. I know that everyone is thinking that they would rather not go to school and have virtual school than have real school, but I think that virtual school is harder that actual school. For one thing at school it is easier to focus and you are forced to pay attention, learn and do work. While at home, you are free to do whatever and no one tells your to do your work so you blow it off. Next thing you know, school is the next day and you haven't done any of the emergency assignments.
A negative about virtual school was that it was too cool outside and I was stuck inside the house the entire day. There are also many positive things about virtual school. For starters, you can sleep in as late as you want, and watch TV. I just have to learn to balance the assignments and still have fun. If we had virtual school again, I would try to get more on top of my assignments and complete them before I have fun. Though if we really had virtual school again, I would probably end up cramming all my work in the day before we come back to school.

Explaining Research
-Informal explanation-
For school we have been working on a Nation History Project that deals with rights and responsibilities My topic is how China's one child policy affects people in China. I found the the government forces families to kill the babies and pay large fines. After a few decades there are not enough children to take care of the elderly and not enough working adults to increase the economy because of the one child policy. The founder of the policy is Deng Xiaoping and the policy was created to decrease population growth in China. I am interested in this topic because it kills a lot of children and makes girls unwanted in China.
-Formal-
I chose the effects of the one child policy in China. It was created in 1979 by Deng Xiaoping, a Chinese leader, to limit population growth in China. I want to examine how the one child policy forces families to only have one child by using harsh treatments such as fines, undocumented children and forced abortions, and how the policy negatively affects the elderly, economy, and the value of girls in China. More recently China's government has decided to change the one child policy into a two children policy.

Research
2. Research, research, research. Explain your topic, why should we care about it, and what specifically is on your research to-do list this week?
For my national history day project my topic is the effects of the one- child policy in china. The policy was created in 1979 By Deng Xiaoping, a Chinese leader, to limit population growth in China. It specifically affects the Han Chinese that live in rural areas. Those who are not Han Chinese or live in urban areas have exceptions to the policy. Recently however there has been talk on loosening the policy to a two child limit. One should care about the policy because it can led to forced abortion, unrecorded children, large fines, and other severe punishments.
This week I hope to re- evaluate certain sources and revise the author's credibility, source, and the purpose of the article in my bibliography. I will create notecards sources to help plan the steps for the paper. In the notecards I will paraphrase and state the important aspects and quotes of each article, and comment on how I will use the in my research paper.

A World Where Children Can Choose to Go to School
What would happen in a world where it was the child's choice to go to school? Would you go to school?
A world where school is optional would be a disaster. Many adults wouldn't be correctly educated to fill job slots, since the majority of them probably didn't go to school when they were little or dropped out. Highly trained jobs like doctors, dentists, and etc. would be filled with fast food workers. Not many people would be educated so it would be highly unlikely to find people who fit the requirements for sophisticated jobs. Children would be crazy and parents would drag them around town to run errands, because they have nothing better to do. Teachers wouldn't be trained and might not even bother to show up to school due to the lack of kids.
I would go to school, because I think that it would be easier to get a job later if I was fully educated. If I didn't want to go, my parents would probably force me to go anyway. If I went to school, I would put less effort into the work because there would be less competition to beat if the other kids didn't show. If it was easy to be the best, not many people would work hard to achieve higher goals and become smarter. I would most likely be one of the slacking people, because there would not be a big enough reason to overachieve.
