Explaining Research

-Informal explanation-
For school we have been working on a Nation History Project that deals with rights and responsibilities  My topic is how China's one child policy affects people in China. I found the the government forces families to kill the babies and pay large fines. After a few decades there are not enough children to take care of the elderly and not enough working adults to increase the economy because of the one child policy. The founder of the policy is Deng Xiaoping and the policy was  created to decrease population growth in China. I am interested in this topic because it kills a lot of children and makes girls unwanted in China.

-Formal-
I chose the effects of the one child policy in China. It was created in 1979 by Deng Xiaoping, a Chinese leader, to limit population growth in China. I want to examine how the one child policy forces families to only have one child by using harsh treatments such as fines, undocumented children and forced abortions, and how the policy negatively affects the elderly, economy, and the value of girls in China. More recently China's government has decided to change the one child policy into a two children policy.

  1. Hey Amanda,

This topic seems very brutal. I think this is a good topic because it makes you realize how good our lives are, compared to those peoples. Have you found yourself thinking about it on your spare time? What is the most shocking thing you have learned? How do your parents think about your topic? Were that at all knowledgable about it. Either if they aren't, you can inform them.

    Good luck, Brooke
